Texo DSI and D2R Technology Announce Strategic Partnership

June 20, 2018

Texo DSI (UKCS), the dedicated offshore division of Texo Drone Survey and Inspection, the owner operators of the world’s most advanced fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles for industrial survey and inspection has announced a strategic partnership with D2R Technology; a Brazilian Oil and Gas technology specialist.

The strategic partnership will see D2R become the company’s official partner in Brazil. Texo DSI (UKCS) will provide a range of class leading UAV deployed survey and inspection solutions for projects and assets in Brazil.

Ronnie Genther, Principal Contracts Manager, Texo DSI (UKCS) said: “This is a significant step forward for the business in our global expansion strategy. We have developed what is the world’s most advanced UAV-integrated survey and inspection solution and are looking forward to working closely with D2R to deliver mission critical data acquisition operations for clients in Brazil.”

Richard Silva, Director, D2R Technology commented: “This is a breakthrough for the Brazilian market, to have access to the world’s most advanced fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles for industrial survey and inspection. With this strategic partnership, it is simply a reassurance that D2R is consolidating its position as technology specialist in Brazil. Both companies have a lot to share and learn from each other, but in reality the Brazilian market is the real beneficiary. D2R’s combined resources in terms of knowhow of the energy spectrum within International Oil Companies, Petrobras, FPSO Operators, Drilling Contractors and Texo’s unique competency within UAV operations on a global level, are second to none. The very complex and regulated Brazilian market imposes boundaries not easily understood by Oil & Gas companies. The ANP (Brazilian National Petroleum Agency), ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil), DECEA (Brazilian Department of Airspace Control), DNV Classification of advanced UAV integrated offshore inspection & NDT applications and ABS Remote inspection/UAV internal vessel inspection accreditation are merely a sample of what is required from us to successfully operate and survey our client’s assets and sites.”

Since its inception, Texo DSI (UKCS) has developed a sector-leading suite of UAV deployed survey and inspection services for the global energy sector; bringing to market a number of world-first technologies including:

-Survey-Grade LiDAR (sub 5mm precision Asset Information Modelling)

-UT Thickness Testing

-Optical Gas Imaging (OGI)

-Hyperspectral (reflectance based corrosion mapping and materials classification)

-UAV heavy lift & sky crane remote supply/drop

These have been deployed in tandem with the company’s other service lines including Close Visual Inspection, Thermographic and Internal UAV inspection.

Moreover, Texo DSI (UKCS) is currently developing novel UAV integrated solutions for a number of additional world firsts, including: ACFM & Phased Array (for surface crack detection & weld fatigue) and Adaptable Non-Contact Microwave Sensor (for corrosion under insulation, coating thickness/condition monitoring). Further details of these will be announced later in the year.

D2R Technology specialises in aerial, ground and subsea robotic solutions for customers in Brazil, South America and West Africa, supporting commercial, government and scientific sectors. It has in excess of 15 years’ experience in the field of topside and underwater inspections in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Renewable Energy and Civil Construction industries.
