Texo Compliance Awarded Sub Contractor Competence ‘Minerva’ Contract from EOS Europe
Texo Compliance, Texo Group’s dedicated training, skills development and competency specialist, has been awarded a contract from offshore electrical services specialist, EOS Europe, for managing Competence Assurance utilising their ‘Minerva’ cloud-based competence management system.
‘Minerva’ enables staff and contractor competence to be tracked regardless of client and contractor operational location.
George Macleod, Managing Director of EOS Europe said: “After having worked through the demonstration and pilot trial on an offshore MODU, EOS Europe saw this as the solution to improving the competence management of both staff and our contractors in an extremely efficient and cost effective manner”.
George added: “This system has minimised the impact of competence assurance on day-to-day operational activities but has maximised both knowledge capture and development”.
The ‘Minerva’ Training and Competence Management System has been developed to specifically mange training and competence assurance processes in austere and challenging operational environments within the Oil & Gas, Green energy and Infrastructure & Construction sectors and can also be used to control and manage interim competence of contractors and temporary staff.
The system utilises a cloud/web-based system used for data storage and Zone 1 Ex-Rated equipment to video capture assessments and ‘Live-link’ technology (negating the need for onsite assessment) such as EX IPAD’s and Android devices which allows real time viewing of evidence and defined percentages of competencies.
James Murphy, Managing Director, Texo Compliance commented: “We have developed Minerva after years of looking at current methodologies for competence assurance systems and looked to create a system that eases the burden of application with the additional aspect of controlling sub-contractor competence”.
James added: “We are currently in discussion with a number of offshore operators to implement ‘Minerva’ throughout the UKCS”.
