TEXO Integrity+ Takes On Silo Tanks And Torque Tube: Case Study

Driving efficiencies and greater ROI for clients through a multi-disciplined in-service solution

The Scope:
Texo Integrity+ were commissioned to carry out the annual silo tank cleaning and the torque tube inspection on-board an offshore platform in the north North Sea in December 2019.

The Solution
Texo Integrity+ mobilised a multi-disciplined and multi-skilled rope access team to clean and perform a visual inspection on eight cement and barite silo tanks. Once this was achieved, the same three-man team was able to remedy and repair the anomalies/defects that were found, minimising downtime and operational disruption. In addition to this, an annual visual inspection was also carried out on the torque tube. This provided the end-client with a truly integrated inspection, access and repair solution.

The Result
Post project feedback from the client has been outstanding, with excellent scores across the spectrum for the project delivery.
Specific client comments included:
“Good work done by the team, despite difficult weather conditions.”
“The team completed the work scope and were pro-active when preparing for the next work scopes.”
“The team worked well with all members onboard the platform.”
“Any changes or delays were dealt with in a professional manner.”

Phillip MacDonald, Managing Director of Texo Integrity+, said:
“This project demonstrates the benefit of deploying a multi-disciplined team as they were able to provide our client with both survey, support and repair solutions in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
“The excellent relationship between our team and the platform crew allowed us to deliver a safe and efficient project to meet our client’s needs.
“I am delighted the team have delivered this scope on time and under budget.”
