Fixing Galley Cold Room issues on an offshore asset

Our client’s platform was having major issues with the central refrigeration plant serving the Galley. This was critical, as a complete failure would mean that all the food stored on the asset would go to waste. Our specialist HVAC unit was sent to the platform to carry out inspection and repair.

We sent a full refrigeration toolkit out to the asset at short notice. Once the toolkit was on the asset, we sent a specialist engineer, who identified poor installation methods. These had caused repeated leaks and failures.

Our engineer addressed the issues one at a time, carrying out a number of repairs. The system was returned to a reliable state of operation and made further recommendations to keep the system in food working order. We left the system fully operational.
