TEXO have an ongoing framework agreement with the client for tower condition inspection using our UAS platforms and based on the successful nature of this, were contracted to provide yearly programme for 3D capture and inspection of the ongoing Kintore substation development.

The requirements for this project were to provide a complete 3D digital record of the substation development area from UAS photogrammetry alone so that site progress and condition could be tracked monthly and the clients management team could use the information for reporting.

The Result

The resulting point cloud, Orthomosaic and digital surface model could be interrogated to provide threshold levels, key feature heights, distances and area calculations by the clients team.

The team would also avail of the point cloud compare / orthomosaic compare tool on ‘Texzone’ which enables two datasets to be overlaid and a time based slider to be used to visualise changing features.
