We were commissioned to perform NDT and visual inspections on the main crane A-frame, onboard a wind turbine installation vessel in the Esbjerg shipyard in Denmark. This included magnetic particle inspection and ultrasonic testing of welds on all load path weld connections, in accordance with DNVGL and NOV specifications. Whilst onboard, NDT and visual inspection of the legs structure was requested by the client, in addition to the original scope of work.
We resourced a multi-skilled, rope access team for this project, including:
TEXO Asset Integrity mobilised the team to carry out the main crane A-frame and leg inspections, and to repair any anomalies, including weld defects observed on critical structures. Additionally, we carried out mechanical preparation and localised coating repairs. This provided the client with an integrated inspection, access and repair solution.
