Our client asked us to manage the design, engineering, fabrication and installation of a Spooler Bridge on their DrillShip. We have a long-standing and collaborative working relationship with the client, who chose us because of our proven track record in multi-disciplinary projects.
We worked closely with the client, starting the project before the 3D laser survey was completed – the survey was delayed by Covid restrictions. This meant that we needed to complete the engineering and design from the vessel’s own GA drawings.
Once the laser scan was completed, we were able to overlay the model to clash-check, helping us to ensure that there were no obstructions, and confirm that there would be no issues with the installation. The project was completed successfully over the course of several weeks.
By maintaining good communication channels with the client, we were able to fulfil the project requirements to a high standard, despite the fact that the client’s vessel was off the coast of Angola at the time. The client was delighted with our responsiveness and our ability to manage a number of project elements in-house.
