Multi-disciplinary project for well test overboard vent line

The operator of Jack-Up Oil Rig asked TEXO Engineering & Fabrication to survey, engineer, design, fabricate and install a 10” x 8” vent line and associate supports on the installation, to allow them to vent off any hydrocarbons to a safe area during well testing.

This project used the full breadth of our multi-disciplinary approach to client work and presented a number of challenges to the team.

The Solution

After survey, we designed a concept which was issued to the client and approved. We then moved into the design and engineering phase before the design was passed into fabrication. Once fabrication was complete from our facility in Dundee, we worked alongside TEXO Asset Integrity to mobilise a three-man rope access team to complete installation.

The Result

Due to weather constraints, there was a need to work from scaffold instead of rope access, which the team quickly adapted to. From start to finish, the whole TEXO Team were able to fulfil their individual requirements, adapt to changing circumstances and safely complete the scope in the timeframe.
