We recommended that a temporary external galley be used during the works. This allowed us to completely shut the existing galley, helping us to complete the job efficiently, without disrupting the crew.
We removed all the existing equipment from the galley, which was put in storage until the replacement was ready.
We then lifted the existing floor finish, exposing the steel deck. A new A60 screed was laid to the appropriate depth and we installed an epoxy resin floor system on top. The galley equipment was then reinstalled and the space was available for use within four weeks of the project starting.
The client was delighted with our ability to undertake the project quickly, cost-effectively and with a scope that matched their needs. We were able to minimise disruption to the vessel, which is a key factor in projects of this type.
