UAS FACADE INSPECTION OF 170m TOWER

TEXO was commissioned by a prominent construction consultancy to deliver facade inspection by UAS of a new build site in the heart of London.

THE SOLUTION

Using the full breadth of our UAS permissions, we carried out a highly detailed inspection of the newly built curtain wall facades. From these images, our client was able to maintain a full safety record of the construction and carry out any required remedial works to complete the project to the highest standard possible. We achieved this with a multiplatform approach using multiple UAS types.

THE RESULT

Conventional methods for a facade inspection would require high-risk rope access surveys. Using our comprehensive UAS permissions, we surveyed in the safest way possible. The image quality and well-laid-out approach to the data storage ensure easy verification that all elements of the facade are captured and stored for future remedial works if required.

Using traditional survey methods means it is far easier for areas to be missed. Our methodical capture method ensures any issues that could prove costly down the line are recorded. Every area of the building facade from low-level up has been captured in a far quicker time than traditional methods.

Traditional methods require a lot more time to plan and physically capture the data. The UAS approach can access these areas far more quickly and with more detail. Using UAS platforms is also more effective when capturing the data as larger areas can be obtained faster than traditional methods.
